Joe began his career in public accounting. He worked with small and medium-sized businesses through acquisitions, divestitures, and ownership transfer through gifting and marital dissolution while also serving as a tax advisor. 

 

Before joining Cassady Schiller CPAs and Advisors, he worked in the mergers and acquisitions and strategy function at Steel Dynamics, Inc., a publicly-traded, Fortune 500 steel manufacturer in Fort Wayne, IN. During his time at Steel Dynamics, Joe led large, diverse transaction teams toward the successful consummation of seven domestic and international transactions totaling over $500 million and piloted strategic planning processes resulting in over $100 million in value creation.  

 

Joe graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. Shortly after, he obtained a Master of Science degree in accounting from Ball State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Valuation Analyst, and Accredited in Business Valuation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
